Eighties Photo Album

Elise Crombez by Annemarieke van Drimmelen for Vogue Netherlands, December 2012

Hi everyone! I hope it's ok that blogging is not on top of my priorities list during my stay in Portugal. I really appreciate and love all of you but Christmas really is about family and friends and my last few days home have been dedicated to them and the next will too.
However I will try to update the blog as often as possible.
Today I'll leave you with a very beautiful and nostalgic editorial that looks a lot like my parents photo album from the 80's down to the sporty looks in the country, the cool motorcycles and cute dogs both in color and black and white.
Does this resemble your parents or your own pictures from another era?

Got Older, Wiser And Beautiful Things

Hi everyone!
Yesterday I celebrated my 26th birthday and although I spent it away from my family and most friends, I had a wonderful day!
I also got amazing birthday presents that I decided to share with you!
My amazing boyfriend, an avid reader of the blog, got me this gorgeous Alexis Bittar necklace I have mentioned here on my birthday countdown. I was so happy when I saw the necklace. Can't even tell you! It was something that I really really wanted and I'm glad my boyfriend read my mind (and my blog) and surprised me with it! Thank you honey! You are the best! :)
Obrigada! És o melhor namorado do mundo!:)
Another thing that I have mentioned in the blog, here, was this lipstick, 050 Princess Peach by Catrice, that my mom sent me. It really is a beautiful mix of orange and pink. So so pretty!
My sister who is the most artistic person I have ever encountered in my life, made me this fabric necklace. How cute is this? It's really well made and she's only 11... I think it's great that she's got so many hobbies, such as this. I was so not like her. Looking forward to wearing it to the beach or during a relaxed day in the country. Thank you little sister!:)
A sério, quão fofo?
Since I love to read and always carry a book when traveling, my family got me this cover for books, that you can carry in your hand or inside your bag. Really needed one and this one's so cute. Love the print!
Adoro o tecido!
And the cutest of all gifts was this card from home. I really didn't need anything else, other than this cute card, letting me know, my family loves me!:)

So thanks to all of you, mom, dad, Laura and António for making my day so special!
And thanks to all my friends who remembered my birthday and to my friend Catarina who took me out for cocktails in the middle of the afternoon...
I love you all!:)

Birthday Countdown - 19 Days To 26

In the last couple of years I've developed a small obsession with hearts, the ultimate symbol of love.
I guess it's because all I have in this world is love. Love from my boyfriend, my family, my friends and even you, my readers.
I'm not saying you can survive on love alone, but you certainly can't live without it.

The Girly Girl Who Loves Skulls

My sister is a girly girl, but boy does she love skulls. It drives my mom crazy, but I kinda like it, specially when done in a cute romantic way. Today I found this t-shirt online and thought it was the most perfect girly/goth t-shirt I have ever seen. I'm sure my sister would die for it!
How about you? Is this your thing?

The Girl Who Could Be My Sister - Coachella Style

Coachella Street Style via Harper's Bazaar

I wasn't planning on showing any Coachella looks, however I was blown away by this one.
The dress is just gorgeous and the all the elements of the look just work perfectly together.
It also reminds me of my sister's favorite "uniform": pretty dresses, worn out denim shirts, lot's of random bracelets and most recently bright lips. Did I mention she's only eleven? Oh, how I miss my little fashionista!

I'm Back and I Brought Vogues

Sara Sampaio for Vogue Portugal, February 2012 - She's wearing a Blumarine dress and Prada bag and jewelry / Vestido Blumarine e jóias e mala Prada

There are many things that make a bad blogger, being boring, being too judgmental, copying fellow bloggers... But  there's no bigger blogging sin than sloth. And for that one, I'm guilty.  I haven't blogged for about 3 weeks, so I totally deserve if all of you just mercilessly desert me (drama queen alert).  Even though, blogging is just a hobby, you seem to take me somewhat seriously, so I'll explain the reasons of my absence. I was home, in Portugal, for the holidays and I just immersed myself in my family life, leaving all other obligations behind. It was too much of a joy to be reunited with my family and friends to even think of something else. Such a joy to be reunited with my country, my language, my food and the places that are so familiar. There I cried almost every night, knowing that I had to leave all of them behind. Don't get me wrong. I am happy here in Dublin, but Dublin isn't home. Not yet. And my body reacted to me coming back by presenting me with a cold that has been tormenting me for days, hence the no blogging.
I've missed so much of the fashion world during this time that it's embarrassing. But nothing can even compare to the time I spent home, specially the precious time I spent with my sister. Fashion time became reduced to Sales, styling my sister, watching Julia Petit's videos on Youtube (here's her website, Petiscos ) with her and to quickly flipping through the Portuguese Vogues from November to January that my mom gave me for Christmas as a joke, a great joke. The day before I left, I got the February issue (above), which is just another masterpiece. So beautiful, you are literally drawn to it. The model is Sara Sampaio, a Portuguese model, who kicks model ass.
Again, I apologize for leaving you, but I'll be a better blogger now. That is, until I go to Portugal again, of course...
