Got Older, Wiser And Beautiful Things

Hi everyone! 

Yesterday I celebrated my 26th birthday and although I spent it away from my family and most friends, I had a wonderful day!

I also got amazing birthday presents that I decided to share with you!

Ontem celebrei o meu 26º aniversário e, apesar de ter passado o dia longe da minha família e a maioria dos meus amigos, tive um dia fantástico!

Também recebi presentes maravilhosos e decidi partilhá-los convosco!

 My amazing boyfriend, an avid reader of the blog, got me this gorgeous Alexis Bittar necklace I have mentioned here on my birthday countdown. I was so happy when I saw the necklace. Can't even tell you! It was something that I really really wanted and I'm glad my boyfriend read my mind (and my blog) and surprised me with it! Thank you honey!You are the best! :)

O meu namorado maravilhoso, um ávido leitor do blog, deu-me este lindo colar do Alexis Bittar, que tinha mencionado aqui no blog na ninha contagem decrescente. Fiquei tão feliz quando vi o colar! Nem sei explicar. Era uma coisa que queria mesmo mesmo e fiquei super contente que o meu namorado tenha lido a minha mente ( e o meu blog ) e me tenha feito esta surpresa. Obrigada! És o melhor namorado do mundo!:)

 

Another thing that I have mentioned in the blog, here, was this lipstick, 050 Princess Peach by Catrice, that my mom sent me. It really is a beautiful mix of orange and pink. So so pretty!

Outra coisa que mencionei aqui no blog, foi este baton, o 050 Princess Peach da Catrice, que a minha mãe me mandou. É mesmo uma mistura linda de laranja e rosa. Fica muito fofo!

 

My sister who is the most artistic person I have ever encountered in my life, made me this fabric necklace. How cute is this? It's really well made and she's only 11... I think it's great that she's got so many hobbies, such as this. I was so not like her. Looking forward to wearing it to the beach or during a relaxed day in the country. Thank you little sister!:)

A minha irmã, que é a pessoa mais artística que conheço, fez-me este colar de trapilho. A sério, quão fofo? Ficou mesmo bem feitinho e ela só tem 11 anos... Acho fantástico que ela tenha tantos hobbies como este. Eu não era nada assim com a idade dela. Estou ansiosa por usá-lo na praia ou num dia passado no campo. Obrigada maninha mais linda!:)

 

Since I love to read and always carry a book when traveling, my family got me this cover for books, that you can carry in your hand or inside your bag. Really needed one and this one's so cute. Love the print!

Como adoro ler e ando sempre com livros, também me ofereceram esta capa para livros, que se pode levar na mão ou dentro da mala. Precisa mesmo de uma coisa assim, mas esta é fofa demais. Adoro o tecido!

And the cutest of all gifts was this card from home. I really didn't need anything else, other than this cute card, letting me know, my family loves me!:)

E o presente mais fofo foi este cartão. De facto, não precisava de mais nada do que este cartão que me diz que a minha família me ama.:)

So thanks to all of you, mom, dad, Laura and António for making my day so special!

And thanks to all my friends who remembered my birthday and to my friend Catarina who took me out for cocktails in the middle of the afternoon...

Celebrating 100 Followers

Hi everyone! Last night me and my boyfriend finally went out to celebrate my 100 followers. As you may remember he had promised to take me out to dinner to a really nice place once I reached 100 followers on GFC. He gave me a lot of choices (all based on ratings he read online, obviously...), Sushi, Italian,Seafood, but I ended up choosing Whitefriar Grill. And what a great choice. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was cozy and cool and the staff was super friendly.

Here are some details of a great celebration.

(Forgive me for any mistakes but today I'm just dead.)

Olá! Ontem à noite eu e o meu namorado fomos, finalmente, celebrar os meus 100 seguidores. Como alguns se devem lembrar, ele tinha prometido levar-me a jantar a um sítio bonzinho, assim que eu chegasse aos 100 seguidores no GFC. Ele deu-me uma data de opções (todas baseadas em ratins que ele viu na net, óbvio...), Sushi, Italiano, Marisco, mas eu acabei por escolher o Whitefriar Grill. E foi uma óptima escolha. A comida era fantástica, atmosfera era confortável, mas cool e os empregados eram super simpáticos.

Aqui ficam alguns detalhes desta grande celebração.

(E desculpem qualquer coisinha, mas eu hoje estou morta e não dou uma para a caixa)

 I used the salt and pepper bowls and my finger to make the number 100 for 100 followers. 

Usei as tacinhas do sal e da pimenta para fazer o número 100 de 100 seguidores.

 

We had celebratory cocktails. He had a Caipirinha and I had something called "Grounds for Divorce", but I suggest they change it to "Grounds for Death" because today I feel so bad I wish I was dead. And I only had one, ONE!

Bebemos um coktail para celebrar. Ele bebeu uma Caipirinha e eu bebi uma coisa chamada "Grounds for Divorce" (algo como Fundamento para o Divórcio), mas eu sugiro que eles mudem o nome para Fundamento para a Morte, porque eu hoje sinto-me tão mal que só me apetece morrer. E só bebi um, UM!

What I ate:  “surf n turf” 28 day dry aged rib of beef, with garlicky gambas and thick cut chips. It was amazing. Very high quality food and very well prepared.

O que eu comi: "surf n turf" bife, gambas com alho e batatas fritas. Foi mesmo muito bom. Comida de alta qualidade e muito bem cozinhada.

 

 He had the pork loin with mash potatoes and sausage. It tried and it was really good, but mine was way better...

Ele comeu lombo de porco com puré de batata e salsicha. Também provei e era muito bom, mas o meu era bem melhor...

 

And now my favorite part, dessert. I had a warm fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream and cream. It was the best thing ever. I'm pretty sure I moaned with pleasure in the middle of the restaurant. 

E agora a minha parte favorita, a sobremesa. Comi um brownie com gelado de baunilha e chantilly. Foi a melhor coisa de sempre! E estou certa que soltei gemidos de prazer no meio do restaurante.

And finally, because this is a fashion blog, the clutch I wore to dinner. You can't really see it well in the picture, but it's in coral pink with a metal trim in gold and croco texture. I love it because it's chic and small but still fits a lot of stuff in it. And the best part? I paid 9€ for it at Penneys/Primark (last year's collection).

E finalmente, porque este é um blog de moda, a clutch que eu usei ontem. Não dá para ver muito bem, mas é rosa coral com um rebordo metálico em dourado e tem textura de crocodilo. Adoro-a! É pequena e chic, mas cabe lá imensa coisa. E a melhor parte? Custou 9€ na Penneys/Primark (colecção do ano passado).

And of course, a big thank you to António, my boyfriend, who pushes me to pursue new goals and who makes me celebrate my  achievements. 

And he's so amazing that last night he promised to take me out to dinner again when I reach 250 followers. I'd also like to make clear that he does take me out to dinner a lot to very nice places and he cooks amazing food for me every day (I couldn't cook a decent meal to save my life!), so don't think he only does this on special occasions, ok? He's a good boyfriend!

100 People Wanna Follow Me?

Hi everyone! Today is a very special day for me! The blog has reached 100 followers! 100! I can't express how happy I am to have 100 people thinking my blog is worth following. 

I started the blog a long time ago with no expectations, no desire for fame and glory, but with a lot of passion not only for fashion, but also for communication and sharing. Yes, I guess that more than anything I wanted to share beautiful things with the world. And if you don't mind me saying so, I think I've accomplished that. But you are the real stars here, you're the ones I write for, you're the ones that make me smile with a sweet comment or by following me. Really! I don't think you know how much happiness and sense of accomplishment each and everyone of you has given me and how you inspire me to do more things and keep on writing and posting

I must confess I sometimes feel like an outsider in the blogging world. I feel like I'm not good enough to have a blog, that I should just give up. But then I look at the right side of the screen and there you are, my followers. The ones that thought I was good enough! And then I know I can't go.

Thanking you is not nearly enough for what you all do for me, but words are all I got at the moment, so thank you for sticking around! I truly love you all!

Oh and as you may know my awesome boyfriend is taking me out to celebrate this milestone of the blog. Where or when I'm still not sure, but I'm really excited about it. I rarely celebrate me and my accomplishments. I've been dismissing my birthday for years and no parties were held when I graduated high school or college or anything. Not that other people didn't want to. I just didn't think it was such a big deal.  But let me tell you, celebrating is good, is there to remind you that you worked for something, that you did something worth being proud of. And that feeling is priceless.

I must thank him, as well, for giving me this goal (I'm a very goal oriented person and I think he knows that). If it hadn't been for him, I probably wouldn't have pushed myself this much and I probably wouldn't have reached so many people. 

So, thanks for being the best boyfriend in the world! I love you!

God, so much yapping. It's like I've just won an Oscar or something! Forgive me for that, but I'm really happy about my 3 digits!

Olá! Hoje é um dia muito especial! O blog chegou aos 100 seguidores! 100! Nem consigo expressar o quão feliz eu estou por ter 100 pessoas que acham que vale a pena seguir o blog!

Comecei o blog há muito tempo, sem grandes expectativas, sem grande desejo de fama e glória, mas com muito amor, não só pela moda, mas também por comunicar e partilhar. Sim, acho que mais do que tudo, eu queria partilhar coisas bonitas com o mundo. E se não ficar mal dizer, acho que até consegui. Mas as verdadeiras estrelas aqui, são vocês. É para vocês que escrevo e só vocês que me fazem sorrir com os vossos comentários e com a vossa vontade de me seguir. A sério! Acho que não compreendem a felicidade e sentimento de realização que cada um de vocês me proporciona e como cada um de vocês me inspira a fazer mais coisas e a postar cada vez mais.

Tenho de confessar que às vezes me sinto um bocadinho à margem do mundo da blogosfera. Sinto que não sou boa o suficiente para ter um blog e que devia desistir. Mas depois olho para o lado direito do ecrã e lá estão vocês, os meus seguidores. Aqueles que acharam que eu era boa o suficiente! E depois sei que posso simplesmente ir-me embora.

Agradecer-vos aqui não é suficiente por tudo o que fazem por mim, mas de momento, o que tenho, são apenas palavras, por isso obrigada a todos por continuarem por aqui. Adoro-vos a todos!

Ah, e como sabem o meu namoradon maravilhoso vai-me levar a jantar para celebrar este marco histórico do blog. Quando ou onde, ainda não sei, mas estou muito entusiasmada. É raro celebrar-me a mim ou aos meus feitos. Há anos que diminuo a importância do meu aniversário e não houve cá grandes festas quando acabei a faculdade ou fiz o crisma ou nada do género. Não que os outros não quisessem, eu é que não achava que fosse nada do outro mundo. Mas deixem que vos diga, celebrar os nossos feitos é bom, lembra-nos que trabalhámos para algo, que fizémos algo digno de orgulho. E esse sentimento não tem preço.

Tenho mesmo de lhe agradecer a ele por me ter dado este objectivo (eu sou uma pessoa que precisa de metas e ele sabe disso). Se não fosse por ele, não me tinha esforçado tanto e não tinha chegado a tanta gente.

Por isso, obrigada por seres o melhor namorado do mundo! Amo-te!

Meu Deus, que discurso! Parece que ganhei um Oscar! Perdoem-me, mas estou mesmo feliz com os meus 3 dígitos!

What did I like about Rebecca Minkoff's collection? That it was made for cool, active women on the run. That and those green shimmery pieces in the first two looks. I need them...badly!
