Monthly Fix - Rachel Weisz for Harper's Bazaar

I have a problem. An obsession. An addiction. More than shoes or lipstick my true love are magazines. If I had my way I'd buy them all. However the times demand some frugality, so I'm going for just one magazine a month. And I have a prediction that March will be the month of Harper's Bazaar. Not only is the cover beautiful (Rachel+Gucci+red&pink. Hello!?), but this is also the magazine's biggest issue ever. And you know how crazy I am for a magazine milestone. Now let's pray Vogue has a very ugly cover.

Eu tenho um problema. Uma obsessão. Um vício. Mais do que sapatos ou batôns, o meu verdadeiro amor são as revistas. Se pudesse, comprava-as todas. No entanto, os tempos exigem alguma frugalidade, por isso cinjo-me a apenas uma por mês. E prevejo que este seja o mês da Harper's Bazaar. Não só tem uma capa linda (Rachel+Gucci+vermelho&rosa. Hello!?), como é a maior edição da revista. E quem me conhece sabe que eu dou um dedinho por estes marcos históricos das revistas. Agora é só rezar para que a Vogue tenha uma capa muito feia.

Addendum:  Turns out Vogue doesn't have a really ugly cover this month. Turns out that it has gorgeous Cara Delevigne on the cover... Her first Vogue cover... I guess I'll have to stretch my magazine budget this month.

Golden Globes 2013 - Best Dressed

Following tradition here I am showing you my favorite looks of the Golden Globes.

I have to admit that despite the usual fashion mistakes, the ladies that attended last night's awards did very well. I am particularly fond of the ladies that went outside the Hollywood sex-bomb box. Such as the lovely Sienna Miller in Erdem who takes the Golden Globe for best dressed.

Seguindo a tradição aqui estou eu a mostrar-vos os meus looks preferidos dos Globos de Ouro deste ano.

Tenho de admitir que, apesar dos habituais desastres, as senhoras que assistiram aos prémios de ontem, estiveram muito bem. Gostei particularmente dos looks que fugiram um bocadinho ao cliché de bomba sensual de Hollywood, como foi o caso da maravilhosa Sienna Miller em Erdem, que leva, sem dúvida, o Globo de Ouro para melhor look da noite.

Dear Santa, I Swear I've Been Nice #9

Ok, so I've wearing the same coconut perfume for the last 6 months and I can't take it anymore. Not that I don't like its scent. I do. It's just that it's a very summery fragrance and it doesn't fit in with the cold and the rain, so a less exotic scent would be welcome. I've worn Valentina by Valentino and Bvulgari II and I kinda sprayed Bvulgari Jasmin Noir all over myself at the airport in Tokyo and I really love them all, so any of them would make me a very happy girl this Christmas.

Nos últimos seis meses tenho usado o mesmo perfume de côco e já não o aguento. Não que não goste do cheiro. Simplesmente, tem um cheiro de Verão e já não combina muito com a chuva e o frio. Gostava de uma fragrância menos exótica. Já usei o Valentina do Valentino e o Bvulgari II e já me borrifei com Bvlgari Jasmin Noir no aereoporto em Tóquio e adorei-os a todos, por isso qualquer um deles me iria fazer uma menina muito feliz este Natal.

The Girl Who Stole My Grandma's Sweater - Rachel Weisz Covers British Vogue

My birthday is in July, so July is my month and as far as I'm concerned it's best month in the world. However, Portuguese magazines have been treating July like the black sheep of the month family and giving him the covers all the other months reject. I guess it's because during Summer women buy every single magazine to take to the beach and nobody cares whether the magazine is any good or not. So, it really t pleases me to see that the month of July is being taken seriously by British Vogue. What a stunning cover! Not only do I worship Rachel Weisz, but I also love it cause it reminds me of home. The chair is exactly like the ones my grandparents have in the country, exactly like the ones I'd lay in under the fig tree in a warm summer day. And I'm pretty sure Rachel stole that sweater from my grandma's closet. I mean, it is the same blue sweater. 

Thanks, Vogue, for bringing a bit of home on my birthday!

Faço anos em Julho, por isso Julho é o meu mês e é também o melhor mês do mundo. No entanto, as revistas de moda portuguesas, têm tratado o mês de Julho como a ovelha negra da família dos meses e só lhe dá as capas rejeitadas pelos outros meses. Acho que é porque durante o Verão a mulherada compra tudo o que é revista para levar para a praia, independentemente do conteúdo.

Assim, é com grande alegria que vejo que a Vogue britânica leva o mês de Julho a sério. Que capa maravilhosa! Não só idolatro a Rachel Weisz, mas também adoro a capa, porque me lembra Portugal, a minha casa. A cadeira é igual às cadeiras que os meus avós têm no Ribatejo, igual ás cadeiras onde eu tantas vezes me sentei à sombra de uma figueira nos meses quentes de Verão. E estou certa de que a camisola foi roubada do armário da minha avó Fernanda. Quer dizer, é igualzinha.

Obrigada, Vogue por me teres trazido um bocadinho de Portugal nos meus anos!

Not Just AnOther Magazine Cover

I know, I know, another magazine cover! But there was no way I wouldn't post this cover of "AnOther" magazine with Rachel Weisz and the little goat! There's something beautiful yet haunting about this picture. It somehow reminds me of the DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik aka German Democratic Republic aka East Germany, the one with the commies). Maybe I've got some visual reference from "The Lives of Others" or something like that. Or maybe it's the wall behind her. Who knows? All I know for sure is that this is an awesome cover that could also double as an ad for something. Her gorgeous coat, perhaps?

Are you madly in love? And did you know AnOther? I confess I didn't, but after taking a look at this cover and their website, I'm very curious about it.

And since we're on the topic of magazines, I must say UK Vogue has a killer issue! And a fat one as well! Oh and how I love a fat magazine with endless pages to flip through!

Eu sei, eu sei, mais uma capa de revista. Mas não havia volta a dar. Eu tinha de vos mostrar esta capa da "AnOther" com a Rachel Weisz e a pequena cabrita. Há algo de muito belo e ao mesmo tempo perturbador nesta foto. Não sei bem porquê, mas lembra-me um bocadinho a DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik aka República Democrática Alemã aka Alemanha de Leste, aquela com os comunistazinhos) .Não sei se tenho alguma referência visual do filme " A vida dos outros" ou algo desse género, ou se é o muro atrás dela. O que é, só Deus sabe! O que eu sei é que esta é uma capa fantástica que também podia ser um anúncio de qualquer coisa. Do casaco maravilhoso dela, talvez?

E vocês, estão completamente apaixonados? Conheciam esta revista? Confesso que não conhecia, mas depois de ver esta capa e dar uma espreitadela ao site deles, fiquei muito curiosa.

E já que estamos no tópico de revistas, tenho a dizer que a Vogue UK de Outubro está muito boa sim sr.! E vem gordinha! Oh, como eu adoro uma revista gordinha, com páginas infinitas para eu virar!
