The Eighties I Know and Love

DISCLAIMER: I wrote this post under the influence. I had two and ONLY TWO ciders. I really can't hold my liquor...

It's the year 2000 and I'm going through my mom's old fashion magazines: French Elle, German magazine Burda and a Brazilian classic, Carícia. I've read them over and over again, amazed by the fact that they were made before I was even born. But the older I got the less interested I was in that and the more fascinated I got by the fashion historic value of those pieces of paper. It was the beginning of the new millennium and I suddenly went back in time and realized I loved 80s' fashion. The obvious problem was the 80s weren't cool yet. They were a decade of fashion experiments gone wrong. A collection of embarrassing hair styles and the correspondent embarrassing photos. But fast-forward 13 years and here we are: wet hair, sporty clothes in neon colors, tribal influences and metallics. And these are the 80s I know and love. Not just shoulder pads and hair spray. But the 80s that had color and smelled of exotic beaches. Even if no one else can see it, this is the 80s! My 80s! My mom's 80s! It's the 80s of the first fashion magazines I've ever read (even before I could read). I know they might go again soon, but for now, I'll just enjoy them while they last!

Neon & Pastel - My New Make-Up

Essence eyeshadows/sombras Essence -55 shrimp me up (shimmer); 19 disco diva (metallic effect)
Andreia nail polish/verniz Andreia - 62
Catrice nail polish/verniz Catrice -030 Meet Me At Coral Island

Hi everyone! About a month ago, I mentioned the new products I got during my last visit home in Lisbon, Portugal, and finally today, I'm gonna show them to you.
If you don't know this about me, you don't know me at all, but I love bargains and overall cheap things. Cheap but good, of course. And this covers all areas of my life (except shoes) including make-up. If 5 years ago I paid €25 for a foundation without thinking twice, today I dread the day I need to head out to Boots and get one for €13. So going home is amazing, cause you get all the good stuff for really great prices.
This time I decided to invest in some colorful eyeshadows, because I only had neutrals and picked up these two by Essence that cost less than €2 each. I already owned eye liners and lip liners  from Essence that also cost less than €2 each and I'm really pleased with them.
And no trip back home is complete without searching high and low for the greatest and cheapest nail polishes. My go-to brand is Andreia, a really great Portuguese brand that has an amazing assortment of colours. I was looking for a pastel lavender and this one is perfect. Also got the brightest neon coral by Catrice that just makes your nails pop. Catrice and Andreia nail polishes are about the same price (between €2,50 and €3,50, I think) and are both great. Andreia takes a little longer to completely dry so it is more susceptible to scratches and other accidents, but they both have a beautiful finish and last forever and ever.
So,did you like my purchases? Are you also cheap when it comes to make-up? What are your favorite bargains?
Quais as vossas pechinchas preferidas?
