Today I came across these two very exciting covers. The first, V Magazine featuring the lovely Kate Winslet and the second, Harper's Bazaar with Lady Gaga. This is art, people! Feel like buying them along with two Ikea photo frames and hang them in my living room! These covers made my day! It's nice to see fashion magazines that don't just rely on their popularity and really make an effort (yes, that's for you Uk Vogue for that big big mistake with poor Vanessa Paradis and that so and so Freja cover that could have been so much more)!

So, do you love them as much as I do?

Hoje, descobri as capas mais excitantes dos últimos tempos! A primeira, a V Magazine com a amorosa Kate Winslet e a segunda, a Harper's Bazaar com a Lady Gaga. Isto é arte, minha gente! Apetece-me comprá-las juntamente com umas molduras do Ikea e pendurá-las na sala de estar. Estas revistas fizeram-me mesmo ganhar o dia! É bom ver que há revistas que, apesar da sua popularidade, ainda fazem um esforço (sim, isto é para ti, Vogue Uk. Aquele grande grande erro com a pobre Vanessa Paradis e aquela capa fraquinha com a Freja, que podia ter sido tão tão melhor...)!

E vocês, gostam delas tanto quanto eu?

Four Is Not a Crowd

The multiple cover epidemic is spreading and it has reached Brazil. Elle Brasil shows four different covers featuring Isabeli Fontana, Ana Beatriz Barros, Izabel Goulart and Renata Kuerten. What do you make of this trend? Is it a way to appeal to a broader audience or a simple way to sell more magazines by making them collectors items? Or could be it be just a marketing trick to make people (specially bloggers) talk about the magazines? Or all of the above?! What do you think? I believe it's just another trick to make them cooler and therefore more coveted and more marketable.

How bout these covers? Do you like them? They're a bit blah to me, even though I quite enjoy the top covers featuring Isabeli Fontana and Ana Beatriz Barros. What's your favorite?

A epidemia das capas múltiplas está a espalhar-se e já chegou ao Brasil. A Elle Brasil fez quatro capas diferentes, cada uma com a sua modelo, Isabeli Fontana, Ana Beatriz Barros, Izabel Goulart e Renata Kuerten. O que é que acham desta nova noda? Será uma forma de cativar mais pessoas ou uma simples maneira de vender mais revistas, tornando-as em objectos coleccionáveis? Ou será apenas um truque de marketing para fazer as pessoas (nomeadamente os bloguers) falarem delas? Ou será uma combinação de todos estes factores?! O que vos parece? Na minha opinião, é apenas um truque para tornar as revistas mais cool e, por isso, mais procuradas e mais vendáveis.

E o que têm a dizer sobre as capas? Gostam? Estão um bocadinho mortas, na minha opinião, mas até não desgosto das capas de cima com a Isabeli Fontana e a Ana Beatriz Barros. Qual a vossa favorita?

Adoring Adele

Adele is the bomb! She's got the voice, the looks, the personality! I absolutely love her! Her music is so full of soul it hurts! Oh, how I could have used some Adele in my teens and early early twenty's! I can totally picture myself listening to her and singing along while desperately crying in the darkness of my room! Drama, drama, drama! But I've moved on and so has she! I'm slightly less dramatic and she's on the cover of Vogue (she wins) ! When I found out about it I almost died with excitement! It's a beautiful cover wouldn't you say? Not the most fashion forward but beautiful and that's all I'm asking from Vogue these days. I love a full cover like this, powerful face, lot's of hair... And the mustard letters...so fall appropriate! And Adele herself...doesn't she look gorgeous?

I must get my issue today or all hell's gonna break loose! The magazine itself looks interesting. I'm dying to read the article on Azzedine Alaïa!

A Adele á a maior! Tem a voz, a beleza, a personalidade! Adoro-a! A música dela é tão cheia de sentimento que até dói! Oh, a Adele tinha-me dado tanto jeitinho nos meus anos de adolescência e no início dos meus 20 anos! Já me estou a imaginar no escurinho do meu quarto a ouvi-la e a cantar enquanto chorava desesperadamente...Drama, drama, drama! Mas eu já evoluí e a Adele também! Eu estou um bocadinho menos dramática e a Adele está na capa da Vogue (acho que ela ganha) ! Quando descobri, quase morri de ansiedade! A capa está bem bonita, não está? Não é a mais à frente, mas está bonita e só isso que eu peço à Vogue, por enquanto. Adoro uma capa cheia como esta. Uma cara bonita, montes de cabelo! E as letras em amarelo mustarda...tão apropriado ao Outono! E a própria Adele...não está linda?

Tenho de comprar a Vogue hoje ou isto vai acabar mal! O próprio conteúdo parece interessante e stou mortinha por ler o artigo sobre o Azzedine Alaïa!

Dublin Fashion Festival 2011 Starts Today

Dublin Fashion Festival is here with loads of fashionable events for the city's style hungry (Maybe I shouldn't mention hunger in Ireland...)!

The festival includes runway shows, make-up and style advice and of course, discounts in major fashion stores and restaurants.

I was excited to attend some of the events, but suddenly my fabulous self disappeared and I just feel like putting on my slippers instead of my pumps! I must confess, I'm not the most fabulous person on earth! I do not appreciate typical fashion parties with the typical fashion people. Organizing an event such as this would be a dream, but being there as a guest...Too forced! I love fashion, I love talking and writing about it, but the "fashion scene" is too much! Too young! Know what I mean? Maybe not! I'm a very confusing person! Specially when I'm PMSing! But there you go. If you'r in Dublin during the festival, enjoy all the fabulosity Dublin has to offer!

Hi everyone! I'm back from Portugal and ready to keep blogging!

All my time back home was family time! I missed them so much it was hard to keep me away from them, specially my little sister. So, as a result I kinda died to the fashion world! But worry not, I'm back!

Today I just wanna show you the gorgeous sweater/t-shirt? I got at Zara during my vacation. I was surprised it actually fit, but after seeing it on the website, I get it, it's meant to be loose and not so close to the body...But who cares? I look great in it and that's what it's all about, right? It's not so green as the picture shows, it's more of a blueish grey and it's a bit see-through, so if you're thinking about getting it and are more on the prude side, get a nude bra or top to wear underneath(a colored top may work as well, depending on the color).

I also got two great nail polishes by Andréia, a metallic green (81) and a metallic brown (50). I wish my bluetooth would be more cooperative so I could show you the pictures from my phone. Oh well...

As you can see I'm all about metallic and shimmer this Winter! How about you? Are you ready to rock this trend?

Olá a todos! Estou de volta de Portugal e pronta para continuar a blogar!

Todo o tempo que passei em casa foi dedicado à família. Tinha tantas saudades deles que não havia nada que me separasse deles, especialmente da minha maninha. Por isso, morri um bocadinho para o mundo da moda. Mas não se aflijam! Eu estou de volta!

Hoje quero-vos mostrar a malinha que comprei na Zara durante as férias. Na altura fiquei surpreendida por ter servido, mas depois de ter visto o site percebi tudo. Era suposto ser mais larga e não tão colada ao corpo. Mas também o que é que isso importa? O que interessa é que me fica super bem! Não é tão esverdeada como aparenta na foto, é mais um cinzento azulado e é um pouco transparente, por isso, quem estiver a pensar comprar e for assim mais para o púdico, é melhor ter um soutien ou top nude para vestir por baixo(um top colorido também funciona, dependendo da cor e do gosto de cada um, claro).

Também comprei uns vernizes lindos da Andréia, um verde metálico (81) e um castanho metálico (50). Queria mostrar-vos, mas o meu bluetooth não está a colaborar, por isso não consigo passar as fotos para o pc. Paciência...

Bom, como podem ver eu estou fascinada com os metálicos e brilhantes desta estação e vocês? Estão prontas para arrasar esta tendência?

Bye Bye Summer

Hi everyone! Sorry for being such a bad blogger! I know I've been absent but this has been a very busy week! I'm going to Portugal tomorrow, so everyday was laundry day and since we are currently out of a washing machine you can only imagine my ordeal! But it's all worth it! I'm going to see my dear family (haven't seen them in 3 months) and hopefully see the sun and the beach (I read it's gonna be raining but I'm praying for a different outcome)! Well, all of this got me thinking about summer and summer "must-haves" that I don't have. So I decided to share them with you in a summer memorial post.

Olá a todos! Desculpem por ser um má bloguer! Sei que tenho estado ausente, mas tem sido uma semana de loucos. Vou para Portugal amanhã, portanto tem sido só lavar e passar roupa, o que tem sido complicado, sendo que de momento não temos máquina de lavar...Mas tudo vale a pena! Vou ver a minha querida família (não os vejo há 3 meses) e ver o solinho e a praia (ouvi dizer que vai estar a chover, mas eu estou aqui a rezar aos meus santinhos para que esteja bom tempo)! Isto tudo pôs-me a pensar no Verão e nos meus "must-haves" de Verão que ficaram apenas no plano dos desejos. Por isso, decidi partilhá-los aqui convosco numa espécie de post de enterro de Verão.

Costumam ficar com saudades da estação que passou ou ficam mais entusiasmados com as tendências da nova estação?

Nails Of Gold

If you know me, you also know that my nails are my pride and joy. They're strong and beautiful and the nail polish stays on forever (two weeks and counting now). I've always done my nails in the salon where I paid €5, but since being in Dublin I had to hold back a bit. The salon in my street charges €35, yes thirty five for a mani and the cheapest I found charged €10. So now I do my own nails and they still look good! I usually use Risqué, a Brazilian brand, or Andreia, a Portuguese brand. Their products are amazing with a great range of colors and last a lifetime on your nails and in the bottle. And the most amazing thing? They're so cheap! About €2 each! Seriously! I get them at those shops that sell products for hairdressers and nail salons. I never had the urge to buy any other brand until I came across this Topshop gold nail polish.I had been looking for one just like this, so despite the not so friendly price (€8 I think), I bought it. I still haven't try it, cause lately there has been no time to do my nails but I'm gonna try it today or tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

Quem me conhece sabe que as minhas unhas são o meu orgulho. São fortes, bonitas e aguentam o verniz uma data de tempo (há duas semanas que não as pinto e estão aceitáveis). Quando vivia em Portugal ia à manicure todos os meses e pagava apenas €5. Agora que vivo em Dublin, tive de começar a arranjar as minhas próprias mãos, porque aqui na rua cobram €35, sim trinta e cinco euros, e o mais barato que encontrei foi €10. Mas agora que sou eu que trato de tudo, elas continuam bonitas, por isso... Normalmente uso vernizes da marca brasileira Risqué ou da portuguesa Andreia. São óptimos! Duram uma vida e têm imensas cores à escolha! E o melhor de tudo? São tão baratinhos! À volta de €2 cada um!( Costumo comprá-los naquelas lojas que vendem produtos para cabeleireiros e salões de beleza em geral. Costumo comprar no Babilónia na Amadora ou no Centro Comercial do Campo Pequeno em Lisboa.)Por isso nunca tive grande vontade de comprar outras marcas, mas quando vi este da Topshop, fique rendida e, apesar do preço pouco simpático (€8 acho), tive de comprar. Ainda não experimentei, porque tem havido pouco tempo e pouca disposição para pintar as unhas, mas hoje ou amanhã terá de ser. Depois conto como ficou.

Agora digam-me vocês, são fãs deste verniz dourado? Usavam? E as unhas são importantes no vosso look?

Today I'm feeling better and more like myself again, despite the occasional migraine . But enough of being a granny.

After a wonderful sunny day in Dublin, the weather came back to its usual unstable crappy self! Not that I mind the rain or the cold, I just mind the bipolarity of this crazy Dublin sky. I just wanted to go out in this outfit, knowing that I'd be warm and dry the whole day. Or is it too much to ask?

How about you? What do you think of this outfit? Would you wear it? Even though I'm a bit...big, I would. I don't think horizontal stripes make you immediately bigger and skinny jeans can look ok, if they're the right size and not from the kids department. It's all about clothes that fit! Do you agree?

How about mixing different colors? Are you into that? I am! Although I own a lot of basics...Wish I could be bolder!

Olá pessoal fashion!

Hoje, já estou melhor. Já me sinto mais eu, tirando a ocasional enxaqueca. Mas já chega de síndrome de avózinha.

Depois de um dia cheio de solinho aqui em Dublin, o tempo voltou ao seu eu instável. Não que eu me importe com a chuva ou com o frio. O que me chateia é a bipolaridade deste tempo. Só queria sair à rua com uma roupinha destas e saber que me ia manter seca e sem frio o dia todo. Será que é pedir demais?

E vocês o que acham do conjuntinho? Usariam? Apesar de eu ser assim para o grandinha, até usaria. Não acho que as riscas horizontais tornem a pessoa imediatamente maior e as skinny jeans podem ficar bem se forem o número certo e não vierem da secção de criança. Acho que tem tudo a ver com o tamanho e como determinada peça assenta. Concordam?

E quanto à mistura de cores? Gostam desse estilo? Eu adoro, mas o meu armário está cheio de básicos. Gostava de ser mais ousada nesse aspecto.

Too Sick To Blog, Too Broke To Shop

Hey there fashionable people! I wanna apologize for my absence but, besides the fact that the blogger hasn't been working, I haven't been feeling like myself lately. Tired, sleepy, lot's of headaches. Don't know what's going on. When feeling like this, one can fail to be funny and interesting. In fact, one can be too lazy to try to be funny and interesting, so I decided not to post anything in the last few days. I don't know how much long it's gonna take for me to get back on track, but for now, I'm gonna leave you with my latest obsession, these Topshop booties. Aren't they cute? They actually look way better than the picture. I was in Topshop a couple of weeks ago, but didn't even have the guts to try them on, cause I know I don't have the money to get them now. Oh, being broke absolutely sucks!

Estive na Topshop há uns quinze dias, mas nem os experimentei. Já sei que não os posso comprar, para quê acrescentar ao sofrimento? Oh, ser pobre é mesmo uma grande...vocês sabem!

It's a great tragedy! This twitter was the funniest thing I've read in quite some time, so it's sad to see it go, after such a short life! R.I.P.
