Got Older, Wiser And Beautiful Things

Hi everyone! 

Yesterday I celebrated my 26th birthday and although I spent it away from my family and most friends, I had a wonderful day!

I also got amazing birthday presents that I decided to share with you!

Ontem celebrei o meu 26º aniversário e, apesar de ter passado o dia longe da minha família e a maioria dos meus amigos, tive um dia fantástico!

Também recebi presentes maravilhosos e decidi partilhá-los convosco!

 My amazing boyfriend, an avid reader of the blog, got me this gorgeous Alexis Bittar necklace I have mentioned here on my birthday countdown. I was so happy when I saw the necklace. Can't even tell you! It was something that I really really wanted and I'm glad my boyfriend read my mind (and my blog) and surprised me with it! Thank you honey!You are the best! :)

O meu namorado maravilhoso, um ávido leitor do blog, deu-me este lindo colar do Alexis Bittar, que tinha mencionado aqui no blog na ninha contagem decrescente. Fiquei tão feliz quando vi o colar! Nem sei explicar. Era uma coisa que queria mesmo mesmo e fiquei super contente que o meu namorado tenha lido a minha mente ( e o meu blog ) e me tenha feito esta surpresa. Obrigada! És o melhor namorado do mundo!:)

 

Another thing that I have mentioned in the blog, here, was this lipstick, 050 Princess Peach by Catrice, that my mom sent me. It really is a beautiful mix of orange and pink. So so pretty!

Outra coisa que mencionei aqui no blog, foi este baton, o 050 Princess Peach da Catrice, que a minha mãe me mandou. É mesmo uma mistura linda de laranja e rosa. Fica muito fofo!

 

My sister who is the most artistic person I have ever encountered in my life, made me this fabric necklace. How cute is this? It's really well made and she's only 11... I think it's great that she's got so many hobbies, such as this. I was so not like her. Looking forward to wearing it to the beach or during a relaxed day in the country. Thank you little sister!:)

A minha irmã, que é a pessoa mais artística que conheço, fez-me este colar de trapilho. A sério, quão fofo? Ficou mesmo bem feitinho e ela só tem 11 anos... Acho fantástico que ela tenha tantos hobbies como este. Eu não era nada assim com a idade dela. Estou ansiosa por usá-lo na praia ou num dia passado no campo. Obrigada maninha mais linda!:)

 

Since I love to read and always carry a book when traveling, my family got me this cover for books, that you can carry in your hand or inside your bag. Really needed one and this one's so cute. Love the print!

Como adoro ler e ando sempre com livros, também me ofereceram esta capa para livros, que se pode levar na mão ou dentro da mala. Precisa mesmo de uma coisa assim, mas esta é fofa demais. Adoro o tecido!

And the cutest of all gifts was this card from home. I really didn't need anything else, other than this cute card, letting me know, my family loves me!:)

E o presente mais fofo foi este cartão. De facto, não precisava de mais nada do que este cartão que me diz que a minha família me ama.:)

Birthday Countdown - 1 Day To 26

Elephant tattoo from an unknown source that I found here

This is the last day before my birthday and the last day of my countdown. It has been a lot of fun showing you beautiful things every day, so I think I might stick to it. What do you think?

 For the last day of the countdown I decided to share with you my most biggest and most obsession, this gorgeous tattoo.

What you have to understand is that I'm not a tattoo person. I never wanted one, not even as a rebellious teenager. It was all too permanent and I wasn't willing to risk it. Even my mom was more open to it than I was...

But when I saw this cute elephant, I realized, I just hadn't meet the right one yet.

You see, a tattoo is like a husband, commitment for life and maybe you didn't want that commitment, until you met that one special man.

I don't know if I'll ever get this tat, but I'm seriously considering it. And no it doesn't have to have a special meaning. I mean, what else do you need other than the overwhelming power of beauty?

What are your thoughts on this tattoo? And what about tattoos in general? Do you have any?

Amanhã faço anos, por isso hoje é o último dia da contagem decrescente. Foi muito divertido, mostrar-vos coisas diferentes e giras todos os dias e acho que vou continuar. O que acham?

Para este último dia, decidi partilhar convosco a minha maior e mais recente obsessão, esta tatuagem maravilhosa.

O que eu quero que percebam, é que eu não sou uma pessoa de tatuagens. Nunca fui! Nunca quis nenhuma, nem naquelas fases rebeldes da adolescência. É tudo muito permanente e eu não queria arriscar. Acho que a minha mãe estaria mais disposta a fazer uma do que eu...

Mas quando vi este elefante tão fofo, apercebi-me que eu simplesmente ainda não encontrado a tatuagem certa.

É que uma tatuagem é como um marido, um compromisso para a vida. E talvez não se queira esse compromisso até se encontrar o homem certo.

Na verdade, não sei se alguma vez farei esta tatuagem, mas estou a considerá-lo.

 E não, não tem de ter um significado, porque se formos a ver, que significado é que uma pessoa precisa, para além do esmagador poder da beleza?

Birthday Countdown - 2 Days To 26

Topshop in nude and black

I really really need new shoes, however I'm having a horrible time finding them. This is probably a problem that most girls aren't familiar with, but finding the right shoes is a matter of great anxiety for me. I have big, wide and very sensitive feet and a very small budget, so you can see why this is stressful. Finding gorgeous good quality shoes, with a high, but not too high heel (this girl walks everywhere now) that are versatile enough to take...oh everywhere, is a monumental task and I have not been up for the challenge. 

Today I found these amazing babies at Topshop's website and they look like they respect a lot of my criteria, so maybe I'll take a look at them soon and hopefully bring them home.

(I just showed the picture to the boyfriend and this is what he said "They're weird, but nice." Not sure he likes them, but he sure has learned the most valuable thing a man can learn: Always agree with your woman.)

So, do you like them? In which color do you like them best? Can't really choose!

Eu preciso mesmo muito de sapatos novos (mesmo muito, no entanto não tenho tinho muita sorte em encontrá-los. A maioria das mulheres não estará familiarizada com esta problemática, mas encontrar os sapatos certos é uma questão de muita ansiedade para a minha pessoa.

Tenho pés grandes, largos e super sensíveis e um orçamento muito reduzido, por isso dá para perceber porque é que isto é tão stressante. Encontrar sapatos lindos de boa qualidade com salto alto, mas não muito alto, nem muito fino (esta menina agora anda para todo o lado), que sejam versáteis o suficiente para usar...bom em todo o lado, é uma tarefa monumental e eu não tenho estado à altura do desafio.

Hoje encontrei estas coisas lindas no site da Topshop e acho que eles respeitam muitos dos meus critérios, por isso, vou ver se dou uma vista de olhos nas lojas esta semana e se tudo correr bem, trago estes bebés para casa.

(Acabei de os mostrar ao meu namorado e a resposta dele foi "São estranhos, mas giros." Não estou muito certa que ele goste deles, mas uma coisa é certa, ele já aprendeu a coisa mais valiosa e básica que um homem pode aprender: Há que concordar sempre com as mulheres.)

E vocês gostam? Em que tom preferem? Estou indecisa.

(1 Day Late) Birthday Countdown - 3 Days To 26

Fox sunglasses chain by Asos 

Hi everyone!

Sorry for not posting yesterday, but I was super busy with cleaning and then a bbq that went on until 2am... So now I'm bringing you yesterday's countdown and later on I'll come back for today's countdown.

Today's object of desire is something I really need. I always wear sunglasses, even in this sunless land called Ireland, because I'm extremely sensitive to any light, and it's very inconvenient to always be putting them away any time I go into a place and then out again when I come out. So this fox sunglasses chain would be perfect for me.

What do you think? Would you ever wear something like that?

Desculpem não ter postado ontem, mas andei ocupada com as limpezas e com um bbq que durou até às 2 da manhã... Por isso agora trago-vos a contagem decrescente de ontem e daqui a pouco a de hoje.

O objecto de desejo de hoje é algo que preciso mesmo. Uso óculos de sol a toda a hora, mesmo nesta terra sem sol chamada Irlanda, porque sou muito sensível a qualquer claridade, e é mesmo muito inconveniente estar a guardar os óculos sempre que entro num sítio e a tirá-los sempre que saio outra vez. Por isso, esta corrente de óculos com raposas era mesmo o ideal para mim.

O que acham? Eram capazes de usar algo deste género?

Birthday Countdown - 4 Days To 26

H&M

Hi everyone!

Today was such a lazy day! I started preparing a post about my shopping yesterday, including some tricks that I use so I don't go bankrupt, but I was overwhelmed by laziness, sleepiness and other bad things and couldn't finish it. And since tonight I'm going out, I'll leave it for tomorrow. So today we get the usual countdown (that is coming to an end. yay, I'm almost 26!). This time I decided to share this necklace from H&M that I saw the other day. I think it'd look great with a white t-shirt (I've been obsessed with white t-shirts and statement necklaces lately), don't you think?

Next week I'll try to hunt it down at H&M.

Hoje foi um dia tão cheio de preguiça! Comecei a preparar o meu post sobre as minhas compras de ontem, que inclui uns truques que eu uso para não ir à falência, mas comecei a sentir uma preguiça e um sono que já não consegui acabar. E como vou sair hoje à noite, vou deixar o post para amanhã. Assim, hoje, temos a habitual contagem decrescente, que já está a chegar ao fim (yay Já estou quase a fazer anos!). Desta vez decidi partilhar este colar que vi na H&M no outro dia. Acho que ficava um máximo com uma t-shirt branca (Ando obcecada com t-shirts brancas e colares enormes. Acho que fica lindo!), não acham?

Para a semana vou tentar caçá-lo na H&M.

Birthday Countdown - 5 Days To 26

Dorothy Perkins

Hi everyone!

So today I woke up a bit down. I wasn't sad or sick, just...down. So instead of  staying like that and probably eat my weight in cookies I decided to go shopping (I'm planning on writing more about that tomorrow, cause today I'm just dead. But I'm so excited! Got great things.). One of the many things I tried on was this blouse from Dorothy Perkins. I really adored the print and the way it fit from my boobs up, but sadly it was a disaster from the girls down. The blouse although in my size (yay to stores that have my size) it was in a very  flowy fabric. And why is that an issue, you ask? You see the problem is my boobs are ginormous and the fabric hits them and falls down which makes it look like I'm a pregnant bear inside a tent. I was a bit disappointed, but I loved it so much I decided to share it with you, so maybe one of you ladies can enjoy it.

So do you like it?

Olá! Hoje acordei meio em baixo. Não estava triste nem doente, apenas em baixo. Mas em vez de ficar em baixo e muito provavelmente comer o meu peso em bolachas, decidi ir às compras (Amanhã adianto mais sobre o assunto, porque hoje estou morta. Mas estou super excitada. Comprei coisas tão giras!).Uma das muitas coisas que experimentei foi este top da Dorothy Perkins. Adorei o padrão e a forma como ficava das mamas para cima, mas infelizmente ficava um desastre das meninas para baixo. Apesar de ser o meu tamanho (yay às lojas que têm o meu tamanho), o tecido da dita era muito leve. E qual é o problema, perguntam vocês? É que as minhas mamas são mega enormes e o tecido caí nesse sítio, o que me faz parecer uma ursa grávida dentro duma tenda. Fiquei um bocadinho desapontada, mas gostei tanto dela que decidi partilhá-la convosco. Gostam?

 I've been wanting one of these for a long time, but they were all too small for my hair and to wear with buns. This one actually looks big enough (yes, size does matter). I'd really love to try it. (Patiently waiting for it to go on sale.)

Yesterday I found this necklace on Maf's blog Eye Love Fashion an it was love at first sight.

The silver medal is Saint Anthony, a very popular saint in Portugal and specially in my home town of Lisbon. No wonder then that the brand responsible for this beauty is called Lisbonlovers, a Portuguese brand that focuses on Lisbon souvenirs for people who really love our beautiful city and it's symbols like Saint Anthony.

Saint Anthony is said to bring lovers together and I'm not ashamed to say I prayed to him for a soul mate and it worked. He brought me my boyfriend António (Portuguese for Anthony), so I'm a believer.

I've kept a picture of him in my wallet for many years and had a figure of him in my bedroom, but how great would it be to show my devotion in a fashionable way? That's why I'm getting it on my next visit to Lisbon (they sell it online, but I'm old fashioned).   Can't wait to have it! Totally obsessed!

Ontem encontrei este fio no blog da Maf, o Eye Love Fashion e foi amor à primeira vista.

A medalha de prata é do Sto.António, um santo muito popular em Portugal e especialmente na minha cidade, Lisboa. Não é admirar que a marca responsável por esta beleza se chame Lisbonlovers, uma marca que se especializa em souvenirs lisboetas para pessoas que amam a nossa cidade e os seus símbolos, como é o caso do Santo António.

Sendo ele o santo casamenteiro, não tenho vergonha de dizer que lhe pedi muitas vezes uma alma gémea e ele deu-ma, o meu namorado, António (coincidência? acho que não), por isso tenho bastante fé nele.

Tive, durante anos, uma fotografia dele na minha carteira e uma imagem no quarto, mas o quão fantástico seria poder mostrar a minha devoção de uma forma mais estilosa? É por isso que vou comprar este fio na minha próxima visita a Lisboa em Agosto (é vendido online, mas eu sou muito antiquada.). Mal posso esperar por comprá-lo. Estou mesmo vidradinha de todo!

Hope I'm not disappointing you by not posting shoes or a bag, but today's countdown features a decor piece that I absolutely love, a pineapple jar from Next. As you may have noticed here, I have a small obsession with pineapples and tropical things in general, specially when it comes to decoration. I hope to one day have a home full of plants and palm trees wall-paper, zebra rugs and pink flamingo pictures...I've even been collecting photos with inspiration for that future home. Maybe I'll share them with you some day.

Espero não vos estar a desapontar por não postar sapatos ou malas, mas a contagem decrescente de hoje tem como protagonista uma peça de decoração que adoro, um frasco em forma de ananás da Next. Como devem ter reparado aqui, tenho uma pequena obsessão com ananáses e coisas tropicais em geral, especialmente quando toca à decoração. Espero um dia ter uma casa cheia de plantas e papel de parede com palmeiras, um tapete de padrão de zebra e quadros com flamingos...Até tenho andado a coleccionar imagens com inspiração para essa futura casa.
