Good Kate, Bad Kate - Kate Moss For W Magazine

Is Kate Moss a bad girl or is she a good girl at heart? In the latest issue of W Magazine we can have our pick. The two covers show two different Kates. The one in white wearing Vera Wang is the good girl, while the one in black Gucci is the sinful Moss. But is it just me, or does the white Kate look more evil than the black one? Now, that I take a closer look, the Kate in white looks more like a scared virgin bride, while the other Kate looks more like a widow who killed her husband...I make some disturbing conclusions, don't I? Either way, both covers are amazing and are most definitely one of those collector's items you'll wanna show your grandkids.

Did you like the covers? What is your favorite? Bad Kate looks prettier but "good" Kate looks crazy enough for me to love her.

Será que a Kate Moss é mesmo uma bad girl ou será que na verdade é uma menina boazinha? Com o último número da W Magazine, a escolha é nossa. As capas duplas mostram duas Kates diferentes. A vestida de Vera Wang branco é a boazinha e a de Gucci preto a pecadora. Mas sou só eu, ou a Kate de branco parece mais mázinha que a de preto? Agora que olhei com mais cuidado, parece que a Kate de branco é uma noiva virgem, enquanto que a outra uma viúva que acabou de matar o marido...Tiro umas conclusões perturbadoras, não tiro? De qualquer modo, as duas capas são fantásticas e são, sem dúvida, aqueles objectos de colecção que vamos querer mostrar aos netinhos.

Gostaram destas capas? Qual a vossa preferida? A Kate má está claramente mais bonita, mas a Kate "santinha" está com um ar tão lunático que é impossível não amar.

Hello Kitty Covers Elle Taiwan December 2011

Who did Elle Taiwan decide to put on its December cover? The one and only, the white and bubbly Hello Kitty! And when a style icon graces your cover, you don't just have one cover, you have two!

I'm pretty sure Kitty fans are going crazy right now, trying to figure out a way to getting their hands on this collector's item. Wanna bet we'll see a lot of them on e-bay?

I'm not a crazy Hello Kitty fan, but I think Elle did a great job with the covers. I love the polka dots lettering on the second cover, but I think the pink one is more appealing (I'm having a huge pink moment!)! How about you? Do you like them? Do you think it was a bold but right move on Elle Taiwan's behalf or are fashion magazines taking it too far these days? I think it was a fun idea and I wouldn't mind seeing more of our favorite cartoons on magazine covers!

Quem é que a Elle Taiwan decidiu pôr na sua capa de Dezembro? A única, a branquinha e fofinha, Hello Kitty! E quando se tem um ícone de estilo desta dimensão na capa, não se faz uma, mas sim duas capas!

Tenho a certeza que as fãs da Kitty estou loucas neste momento, a tentar descobrir uma maneira de pôr as mãozinhas numa destas peças de colecção. Querem apostar que o e-bay vai estar cheio de Elles Taiwan?

Eu não sou uma fã incondicional da Hello Kitty, mas acho que a Elle fez um óptimo trabalho com ambas as capas. Adoro as letras às bolinhas da segunda capa, apesar de estar mais inclinada para a rosa ( a pessoa aqui tá a ter um momento muito rosa!). E vocês o que acham das capas? Gostam? Acham que foi uma arriscada, mas certeira aposta por parte da Elle? Ou será que a revistas de moda estão a ir longe demais? Eu cá acho que foi uma ideia divertida e não me importava nada de ver mais dos nossos desenhos animados preferidos nas capas.

The Other Gaga

Turns out there were two Elle UK covers with Gaga! I guess if you have Gaga in your magazine for the first time, you better make it special. When I saw them I prayed for a cover/back cover kind of thing, but no, there were two of them. And God, I hate choosing! Even though I really loved the other one, I ended up buying this one. Up close it has much more visual impact and the boyfriend, who paid for it (How could I not be completely crazy about a man who buys me fashion mags without judgement?), also liked this one better, so...

Think I made the right decision? Which one do you like best?

Four Is Not a Crowd

The multiple cover epidemic is spreading and it has reached Brazil. Elle Brasil shows four different covers featuring Isabeli Fontana, Ana Beatriz Barros, Izabel Goulart and Renata Kuerten. What do you make of this trend? Is it a way to appeal to a broader audience or a simple way to sell more magazines by making them collectors items? Or could be it be just a marketing trick to make people (specially bloggers) talk about the magazines? Or all of the above?! What do you think? I believe it's just another trick to make them cooler and therefore more coveted and more marketable.

How bout these covers? Do you like them? They're a bit blah to me, even though I quite enjoy the top covers featuring Isabeli Fontana and Ana Beatriz Barros. What's your favorite?

A epidemia das capas múltiplas está a espalhar-se e já chegou ao Brasil. A Elle Brasil fez quatro capas diferentes, cada uma com a sua modelo, Isabeli Fontana, Ana Beatriz Barros, Izabel Goulart e Renata Kuerten. O que é que acham desta nova noda? Será uma forma de cativar mais pessoas ou uma simples maneira de vender mais revistas, tornando-as em objectos coleccionáveis? Ou será apenas um truque de marketing para fazer as pessoas (nomeadamente os bloguers) falarem delas? Ou será uma combinação de todos estes factores?! O que vos parece? Na minha opinião, é apenas um truque para tornar as revistas mais cool e, por isso, mais procuradas e mais vendáveis.

E o que têm a dizer sobre as capas? Gostam? Estão um bocadinho mortas, na minha opinião, mas até não desgosto das capas de cima com a Isabeli Fontana e a Ana Beatriz Barros. Qual a vossa favorita?
