Some NYFW Favorites

Oh NYFW has just gone by so quickly! I was hoping to do a more detailed coverage of the shows but this week has been crazy. However I didn't wanna pretend there weren't cool things from NY and go straight to LFW, so here are some of my favorites (cause trust me there were a lot of other great things) from last week. A semana de moda de Nova Iorque passou tão depressa! Contava fazer uma cobertura mais detalhada dos desfiles, mas esta semana foi a loucura. No entanto, não quero fingir que não se passou nada em Nova Iorque e ir directamente para Londres, por isso deixo-vos alguns (sim porque isto é apenas uma pequena amostra) dos meus favoritos desta semana. Grammys 2013 - Best Dressed

And here I am with the best dressed list for the other red carpet event of the weekend, the Grammys. Hope you enjoy it!

Adele in Valentino - My jaw literally dropped when I saw her. She was wearing color and florals and showing her legs! I love the dress and I think she looks absolutely lovely. Hopefully she'll start wearing more color now. 

Fiquei literalmente de queixo caído quando a vi. Cor, flores e pernas à mostra! Adoro o vestido e acho que ela está linda. Só espero que ela continue a usar cores vivas.

BAFTAs 2013 - Best Dressed

I spent this weekend being one with nature in Northern Ireland (can hardly move now) and even though I really enjoyed it, I was in need of some glamour. So it was nice to come home and see all the photos from the BAFTAs and the Grammys. I think there were really great moments in both award ceremonies and as usual I couldn't wait to share them with you.

For now I'll leave you with the best dressed from the BAFTAs and later I'll share my Grammys favorites. Hope you enjoy it!

Passei o fim-de-semana em harmonia com a natureza na Irlanda do Norte (mal me consigo mexer) e, apesar de ter gostado muito, estava necessitada de algum glamour na minha vida. Por isso, foi bom chegar a casa e devorar as fotos todas dos BAFTAs e dos Grammys. Houve momentos muito bons em ambas as cerimónias e, como de costume, estava em pulgas para partilhá-los convosco.

Big Campaigns, You Are Beautiful - Marina Rinaldi Spring 2013

As a plus-size girl and a blogger that is trying to promote some diversity in fashion, it's frustrating to see that brands just don't seem to care about plus-size campaigns. Bad hair and make-up, bad lighting, ill-fitting clothes... It really is difficult to find a campaign that actually makes you wanna buy the clothes for any other reason than the fact that they fit. And here's where Marina Rinaldi is beating everyone else. Marina Rinaldi is brand that seems to care, that wants to sell and that understands its target. Fat women aren't just retired women and stay at home moms. We're young professional women who love fashion just as thin women do and that deserve to dress well just like them. So, thanks for this beautiful campaign and these beautiful clothes. (Just to make it clear, no one paid me to say this. This brand doesn't even know of my existence.)

Como rapariga que veste tamanhos grandes e como blogger que tenta promover alguma diversidade no mundo da moda, é algo frustrante que algumas marcas de moda não se preocupem muito com campanhas de tamanhos grandes. Maquilhagem e cabelos péssimos, má iluminação, roupas que não assentam bem... É difícil encontrar uma campanha que nos faça querer comprar a roupa, para além do facto de ela nos servir. E é aqui que a Marina Rinaldi ganha a corrida. Esta é uma marca que parece preocupar-se, que quer vender e que compreende o seu público-alvo. As mulheres gordas não são todas reformadas e donas-de-casa. Nós somos jovens profissionais que gostam de moda, tal e qual uma mulher magra, e merecemos vestirmo-nos bem como elas. Por isso, obrigada, Marina Rinaldi, por esta linda campanha e por estas roupas maravilhosas. (Atenção que ninguém me pagou para dizer isto. Esta marca nem sabe da minha existência.)

Sailor Moon - Lana Del Rey for Numéro Tokyo

When I saw this cover and editorial of Lana Del Rey for Numéro Tokyo, I just had a flashback of my childhood heroes, Sailor Moon and her friends with their big bows and flowing hair against a colorful sky.  And I immediately remembered how excited I was to watch it on Saturday mornings and how me and my friends would play "Sailor Moon" on the playground ( I was Mercury by the way). Such sweet memories...

Quando vi esta capa e editorial da Numéro Tokyo com a Lana Del Rey, tive um flashback das heroínas da minha infância, as Navegantes da Lua com os seus grandes laços e cabelos ao vento contra céus coloridos. E lembrei-me de imediato daquelas manhãs de sábado a ver os desenhos animados na televisão e das brincadeiras com as minhas amigas no recreio (eu era sempre a Navegante de Mercúrio) . Que bons tempos...
