Let Them Wear Chanel

Chanel Cruise Collection
Karl Lagerfeld took over Versailles and presented a Cruise collection inspired by the great Marie Antoinette. The intent or so it seems was to mix the Queen's over the top style with comfortable street-wear, incorporating elements of Rococo, such as shells and lots of gold. The Queen's look was also present in the hairstyle and make-up, which included a Chanel beauty mark.
Denim was also a big element of the collection, but it didn't really work for me.
On the other hand, I really liked the hint of 80's/90's with the big pleated skirts and trousers. Just reminds me so much of my mom during those years.
Overall, I think it was an awesome show with great delicate pieces that would certainly fit in Marie Antoinette's 21st century wardrobe.
Will be showing details and behind the scenes later.
So did you like it? Let me know!
Lembra-me muito a minha mãe nessa época.
Contem-me tudo!

Real Fury Towards Real Fur At Fendi

I just watched the Fendi show and from a design point of view I absolutely loved it. However the use of real fur just pissed me off, pardon my language. And that's why I am not showing any pictures of the show, even of fur-free looks.
I'm pretty sure I've posted real fur and I probably will again, because it is impossible to always know what materials are being used, but when I know for sure, I can't do it, no matter how much I admire the design.
In this show, Karl Lagerfeld (I hate him as a person as much as I love him as a designer), decided to turn the Fendi woman into an African tribe member who uses pelts of all types to keep warm, or simply dressed.. Well, the truth is that the Fendi woman lives in Milan, Paris, New York and not in a tribe in Africa. Her pelts and fur are used out of vanity, not out of necessity and that I can't support.
I am no saint when it comes to animal rights. I've tried to become a vegetarian but have failed. And I'll probably never succeed, but at least I try to keep animal aggression to a minimum and I believe even the animals we eat should be treated with dignity.
There's much more it could be said about this matter but I'll just urge you all to support brands that do not use real fur and that don't test on animals.
I would mean a lot if you could share your opinion on this subject.
Thank you for reading.
No entanto, o uso de peles verdadeiras, irritou-me profundamente.

It's Raining Glitter

Karl Lagerfeld has created a cosmetic collection that will be sold at Sephora throughout Europe and Singapore from November 6. The collection also includes holiday accessories, a Karl doll and my favorite, a Karl snow globe. If you don't know what to get me for Xmas, this is it, people!
