Yesterday I read this , a article about a pro-thin/pro-ana website that called Kate Upton fat. Yes, you heard it, this goddess up here is apparently fat.
I was not going to address this subject but this sort of thing makes so mad/sad/disappointed, that I couldn't stay quiet for long.
First of all, I think Kate looks healthy and very sexy. She's one of the few models that I wouldn't mind looking like, exactly because she's not too skinny.
Secondly, I'd like to say that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how idiotic I might think that opinion is.
Thirdly, I'm not just defending one body type. All bodies are worthy and beautiful in their own way (I've shared all sorts of editorials on the blog).
And lastly, the girl who accused her of being fat and all the other girls that agreed with her are most likely sick girls that should be committed.
These are women who hate themselves and and other women, who have a daily war with themselves and food and who harm others by feeding each others diseases with these websites. These women make me deeply sad. I actually feel sorry for them that they must live this way.
I seriously hope all of them can be treated and live a happy, fulfilling life.
So, I would like to appeal to all of you, who know someone with an eating disorder, to help them seek professional treatment. I believe that's the only way they can start to heal.
I'd love to hear your opinion on this subject.
Ontem li este artigo sobre um site pro-thin/pro-ana que dizia que a Kate Upton era gorda. Sim, ouviram bem, esta deusa aqui é aparentemente gorda.
Eu nem ia falar deste assunto, mas isto faz-me ficar tão zangada/triste/desapontada que não podia não falar nisto.
Primeiro, gostava de dizer que a Kate me parece muito saudável e é muito sensual. É das poucas modelos cujo corpo não me importava de ter, exactamente por não ser demasiado magra.
Em segundo lugar, tenho de dizer que toda a gente tem direito à sua opinião, independentemente de eu achar essa opinião a coisa mais idiota do mundo.
Terceiro, eu não estou a defender apenas um tipo de corpo. Acho que todos os corpos têm direito a existir e todos têm a sua beleza (como sabem publico todo o tipo de editoriais).
Por último, a pessoa que chamou gorda à Kate e todas as outras que concordaram com ela, são provavelmente doentes e precisam de ajuda médica.
São mulheres que se odeiam a elas, assim como às outras mulheres, que têm uma guerra diária com a comida e que se prejudicam umas às outras alimentando as suas doenças com estes sites.
Estas pessoas entristessem-me profundamente. Sinto mesmo pena delas por terem de viver desta forma. Espero sinceramente que todas possam ser tratadas para terem uma vida feliz e completa.
Por isso, gostava de apelar a quem conheça alguém nesta situação, que ajude essa pessoa a procurar ajuda profissional. Acredito que só assim, elas se podem começar a curar.
